The X Scholarship
The X Scholarship, established in 2014 by the past-presidents of the CBDX, awards top-achieving Princess Anne High School seniors with funds to supplement the costs of higher education. Scholarships are awarded each year during the Central Business District Association’s annual Internship Day luncheon. Since its inception, over $15,000 in scholarships have been awarded. Recipients are selected through an application process focused on students who demonstrate a passion for our region, particularly Virginia Beach, and the opportunities for growth here.
Contributions are Tax Deductable
The X-Scholarship is now administered through the Central Business District Foundation (CBDF), in partnership with the CBDX – making contributions to the X-Scholarship tax-deductible! CBDX strives to continue to grow this program through the generous support of the local business community. Contributions to the CBDF and the X Scholarship may be made by going to www.cbda.net and following the link to the CBDF.
A Growing Success
In its first year, one X Scholarship was awarded to a deserving student in the amount of $1,250.00. Since then, X Scholarship funds raised have quadrupled each year, allowing us to award two scholarships of $2,500 in 2015, 2016 and 2017. We welcome you to become a part of our growing success and to help make a meaningful difference for some outstanding students as they begin their college careers!!
